Darasuram

Darasuram or Dharasuram is a panchayat town found 3 kilometers from Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu, India.According to the 2001 registration, the town had a populace of 13,027. The town is known for the Airavateswara sanctuary built by the Rajaraja Chola II in the twelfth century AD. The sanctuary is a perceived UNESCO World Heritage monument.It is the Suburban locale of Business city of Kumbakonam.
